Watching the game 24 hours after it happens...

I was visiting some friends who didn't have BTN and so I didn't get to watch the game until last night on BTN replay.  I have to say it was much easier to watch objectively without hoping for a win, knowing the eventual outcome.

I have to say, for all the uproar that is generated each week, I wasn't as disappointed as I thought I would be.  I saw a bunch of freshmen make some outstanding plays (Stonum, Cissoko, Odoms) and a more experienced guy do what he should (Minor) and some freshmen make freshmen type mistakes. I saw an offense that looked like it could break a big one at times, and look inept at others. They still put up almost 35 points, which no one expected.

The defense had some problems both containing the QB and in coverage (nothing new for UM against a running QB right?) but I saw a guy who was the #14 rated dual-threat QB in 2007 (who had offers from Minnesota, Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois, Toledo, Louisville, and Bowling Green) tear us up probably playing the game of his life.  Purdue sucks, but that kid made mostly good or better throws, receivers got wide open (again, not new when the QB is running around against us), and the kid made good decisions. If they don't keep him at QB, it will be a mistake in my book. You can fault the D if you want, but don't take credit from that kid for playing a great game, he would have done well against a lot of D's the way he played Saturday.
