Michigan Women's Soccer is on fire.

After back to back road wins at ranked opponents (#13 Washington State on 9/13, #23 Penn State on Thursday night) Michigan continued their road stand against Ohio State down in the hole that is Columbus.

Michigan had not won at Owens Memorial Stadium since 2006.

OSU had ideas of keeping that stat relevant as they went up 1-0 in the 23rd minute on a goal that was pretty much chaos inside box. B1G Goalkeeper of the Week Hillary Beall came out to stop a shot in the box but collided with a Wolverine defender. She got up and made an initial diving save but couldn't corral the ball and the rebound was kicked past her for a goal.

Less than a minute later, Nicki Hernandez was taken down in the box when she was on her way to try to even the game up quickly. She converted easily on the penalty kick to tie the game at 1. It's the first goal of the season for the snakebitten junior who has come so close all year to getting her 1st goal after leading the team in scoring last season. The score stayed knotted at 1-1 at halftime.

3 minutes into the second half, Sarah Stratigakis scored would what be the game winning goal. Strat is Michigan's leading scorer in 2019 with 4 goals & 4 assists.Hillary Beall made 4 saves in this one and kept OSU out of the net for the remainder of the game as Michigan held on.

Michigan beats Ohio State 2-1. It's the second straight win over OSU and the Wolverines have won or tied in 4 of the last 6 meetings. Second year head coach Jennifer Klein is 2-0 against Ohio State.

Michigan just completed a gauntlet string of road games with a 3-0 record. Pretty remarkable stuff. 6 points on THIS road trip at PSU who is the perennial B1G favorite and an arch rival is HUGE for the team's resume come NCAA selection time and for the B1G race.

This was Michigan's first win at Owens Memorial Stadium since 2006. Michigan now leads the all-time series 15-12-4.

Michigan is now 7-2-0 (2-0-0 B1G) and will finally return home for a pair of weekend games. Michigan will first take on Purdue (6-2-1, 2-0-0 B1G) on Friday at 7pm.
