The Victors remix song at Hockey

Submitted by Built Ford Tough on

I was wondering, with all the talk about how terrible the Hail & Unite campaign is and different fight songs and such, what do folks think about that Victors remix the Hockey band plays near the beginning of games? Does anyone know the name of this song?

It seems different than Hoover Street Rag in that it pretty much starts off as the traditional Victors and then steers off in a different direction. I'm not that big of a fan, but hearing it this weekend at Yost made me wonder what the other MGoBloggers thought about it.

I believe it's called Victors Valiant. I like it. It's not too far from other things we've done. M Fanfare is just a collection of chopped up pieces of the victors and Yellow and Blue being played over different progressions, so this really isn't all too different.

Plus, I don't think it's comparable to the Hail and Unite fiasco because:

  • hail and unite hasn't even been commissioned as far as i know. We have no idea how that might sound
  • Victors Valiant isn't supposed to be any sort of "companion" piece to The Victors, it's just filler. In other words, in my view, VV isn't supposed to be anything on its own. It's just a fresher way to hear The Victors.

God, I wish M Fanfare was still played at Crisler before the players came out.  Gave me chills to have ther whole arena standing with a fist in the air right before the team exploded out of the tunnel.

Now we get HipHop and players yelling at people to stand up.

I like the song but I don't really like when they have been playing it.  I also noted that they have been playing songs that are popular with the COY right at the time the refs are coming out in an effort to keep the COY from booing the refs which I don't like.  They also have shortened the amount of time that they are doing the Blues Brothers dance to only 3 or at most 4 rounds when they used to have as many as 6.

They also play way too much piped in crap some of which is real cheesy blue collar stuff they play at Pistons and Lions games.  Still way better than what they are doing at Crisler.  I almost threw up when they did the jumparound there.  Jumparound has no place at Michigan sports events.

For a second I thought you were saying hail and unite were playing their stupid fucking song at the hockey games. You almost gave me an ulcer.
