Tood Jones Sucks
I like Todd Jones.
Despite the times when the rollercoaster goes flying off the loop-de-loop.
The rollercoaster goes crazy every other save opp... it can't do well on the conscience of the guys standing behind him on the field to think that they will have little to no chance of wrapping the game up with the mustache ride on the mound. How can his defense even try to bail him out when he is throwing batting practice meatballs and giving up opposite field bombs??

We're never gonna take over the AL Central blowing it in the 9th inning to the White Sox. Fucking Todd Jones. Two outs, runner on, AND I KNEW IT WOULD HAPPEN. Luckily the tigers fall somewhere like 5th in my hierarchy of Michigan sports teams.
Promote this man to closer. Now is the time. Jones has been horrifying for the last 3 weeks. No one is scared of Todd Jones. Zumaya, however, scares the shit out of hitters. He's got attitude and a wicked fast ball. F Jones. Demote him to middle reliever.
closer. He was put into the highest leverage spot in the game, I'd bet. Throwing a single inning of shutout ball when you come in with no out and no on is low leverage.
Don't get me wrong, I have mad man-love for Joel Zumaya. But three of Chi's six runs scored on his watch yesterday. Let's not absolve him of blame.
but that doesn't mean I don't like seeing him trot out there in the ninth. In fact, I wrote "at least we get to face Todd Jones" in a game thread before he came out for the ninth. Man, JD hit the shit out of that, didn't he?
