The Tigers' 6-2 lead (6-4 entering the ninth) is now a 7-6 deficit. Fuck Minnesota.
That is all.
I now live in Minnesota and all I hear day in and day out from my friends is how the Twins are soooo much better than the Tigers. I cannot wait to see my inbox tomorrow morning.... damnit.
At least the Wolverines, Wings, and Stones are leagues ahead of the crappy Sota franchises!
And I agree, Todd Jones is terrible... Fernando Rodney is terrible... most of the bullpen is terrible.
He's thoroughly average. However, his margin for error is so slim that he can't overcome something like the abortion that Joyce performed in right field. Rodney on the other hand has been pretty much terrible.
Tigers had their chances while fielding a glorified Triple A team. I really disliked Leyland pinch running for Cabrera in the 9th since he wasn't the winning run. I know he was trying to stay out of a double play, but I think the possibility of extra innings outweighs that. Actually, very little outweighs Cabrera.
While it's scary to watch him, he generally gets the job done. That was only his 2nd blown save this year, better than many high profile closers.
Plus, he looks like a Will Ferrall character!
I think throwing meatballs and letting guys fly out to the warning track is a great strategy.
A couple things that Leyland overmanaged yesterday. Taking Thymes out (defense strategy), letting Rodney throw, pinch running for Cabrera (WTF, taking your best bat out of the lineup?). Jones scares me everytime he is on the mound (well put dex!), but he does get the job done, but he loads the bases in the process! I would like to see Zumaya go into the closers role, but he still has some improving to do. You could tell they were done once they had the bases loaded in the 9th with one out and struckout twice!
...actually good NBA centers. There's not enough of them to go around, so teams try and make do with things like Rasho Nesterovic and Joe Borowski.
Hey!! Jonesy and F-Rod!!!
Kill yourselves!!!
How did you handle Robertson and his 9 inning effort recently?
