Every time I see their mascot I think of this post - it does makes a certain amount of sense:

Great article.
Also, the mascot seemingly has different sized and shaped ears every year. There was one year, I swear it looked more like a coyote.

So the costume is actually redone every year? There's not some standard factory blueprint? Interesting.

The Athletic had a good article today about the origins of the white-out games.

It would be more appropriate for ped state to drop the lyin' and use the logo of NAMBLA!!!
BTW, FUCK ped state and all their delusional joepa loving fans and all the paternos and field goal franklin!!!

There was a tremendous comment to that article that said "Can't anyone KNIT ANY LION?"

Wow that was some good writing, to look at the pathetic Nittany Lion costume . . . and come up with that story.
Seems legit.

All mascots are dumb, but there several that are dumber.
Most mascots are bad--and this one is the worst. It looks like a bad taxidermy job from a hundred years ago. But then again they had a child rapist showering in their lockerroom every day.
