I read about this the past couple days, his injury, and now his death. Sad when anyone dies, but especially the young. God bless.

RIP, Chace.
By all accounts a great guy and teammate.
(You'd think the big club would at least cover the funeral expenses, as a humanitarian gesture.)

You never know. There are still players on the 84 team who don't have the same quality of WS ring as the well known players.

Man, what a horrible rough story. Condolences to his family.
It doesn't seem clear if he was wearing a helmet, but chances are that he wasn't. Still is shocking to me to see how many adults and kids don't wear helmets when riding bikes. My kids think we are uncool for making them, but it's such an easy thing to do to protect yourself.

Well many of us grew up not even able to buy a helmet and none of my childhood friends had serious injury. I've slowed down now, but snow skied from Alaska to CA and don't remember a serious injury while I was skiing.
I understand that times have changed and the new norm is to wear helmets, but SHOCKED... not sure its shocking when so many of us didn't wear them growing up.

Guess we see it differently. I think your logic is pretty flawed, but I hope it never becomes relevant for either of us.

My logic? It's my life experience.

I honestly don't mean to be a jerk about it, but saying something bad never happened to me so I shouldn't try to avoid the risk seems like flawed logic to me. Someone literally just died from a head injury, so this isn't an abstract thing. Do you apply the same life experience to airbags and seat belts?

I live by the logic that I make decisions for myself and live with the consequences.
I don't need anyone imposing on me what they think I should do.
edit... Not trying to be a jerk either.

You should probably wear one while shopping, just in case.
