As were discussing sports deferments for military folks in the other thread:
USS Illinois (BB-65) - Was to be the first of the Montana Class Battleships being built during WW2. It had 12 x 16" guns. It was cancelled in 1945 after the keel was laid down and we had figured out that aircraft carriers would be the premier class of ship in the post war Navy.
Good thing they didn't build this as our penultimate rivals the Fighting Illini (after Rutger as our main rival of course) would have battleship named after their state.

Joking, I can't wait to get to Anthony Carter! After the way last season ended, I needed a break, needed to detox but now, fuck it. I'm ready and I hope Michigan is as well!
