Tailgates in Miami/Fort Lauderdale on Dec 31?
My buddy and I will be staying in Fort Lauderdale for the game. Anybody know if Michigan tailgates in either Miami or Ft Lauderdale or at the stadium? Would like to have something concrete if possible instead of wandering around. Alumni tailgate says sold out. Thanks!

Probably more blacktop and grass than concrete tailgates so you might be out of luck.

Outside of the Hard Rock Stadium, they have the Orange Bowl fan fest. Went in 2016 and it was quite fun. Had the bands playing, live entertainment, games, food, alcohol. Its definitely worth checking out. Im avoiding it just because im trying to limit my Covid exposure since I have a wedding to attend in two weeks but I had a really great time at the fan fest in 2016. There will be plenty of tailgates in the parking lot as well. I recommend getting there as soon as you can because parking at the Orange Bowl was a hassle last time we were there

My wife and I are staying in Ft Lauderdale and will be drinking the alcohol prior to going into the game. Hope that helps.

+1 for "the"
Just don't get the Covid or smoke any of the pot and stay off of the Facebook

I don’t know about tailgates, but I drive from DC to Miami fairly often. One piece of advice for everyone on the board is if you drive or rent a car, get the sun pass. You’ll thank me later.
Oh, and Merry Christmas!

I just spent a few days in the Keys with my wife and we had one day in Fort Lauderdale before flying home. Good lord, that traffic sucks! It could be recency bias, but it seemed worse than anything I’ve experienced in NY, Chicago, or SoCal. It didn’t help that we had to wait for the drawbridge twice. Whether it’s freeway or city, rush hour or not, the traffic was awful.
And now I’ll stop my bitching, as I feel old as hell.

This is excellent advice. Also important to note for those who live in states with EZ Pass: EZ Pass can now be used in Florida as well, so a separate SunPass transponder isn't needed.
