Streaming HD video from Vimeo; perfect for game recaps

Submitted by karpodiem on

Hey guys, I recently was checking out that new video site, Vimeo. Apparently you can upload videos recorded in HD (I will be recording all the football games in HD this Fall), and stream them from this site.

So yeah, for the games this Fall I'll create a highlight reel and upload it in HD to this site. kind of like what WolverineHistorian does on YouTube. Pretty cool eh?

You can burn HD onto a standard DVD, stick it in a PS3, and it will playback in HD.

Other than that, you're probably looking at the Apple TV, which has 720p playback. But the PS3 would probably be a little more future proof.

I don't think I would ever upload a whole game. They allow 500MB upload a week, so if even if you wanted to, you're looking at a huge effort to slice it up. You could do multiple accounts or play with the resolution/bitrate to make it more managable but I would probably only do it if in the event we beat OSU this year.

*reads OP* ahh, so it's like a HD Wolverine Historian thing. BTW, does anyone know the Historian or how to get in touch with him?
