State of Michigan Recruits Talk About Recruiting Process

Submitted by MichiganStudent on
Not sure if this has been brought up, but this is a nice article about the recruiting process of in-state players. There are a bunch of Sparty recruits and a few OSU recruits in here, but its interesting to read their comments on why they didn't commit to M. http://www.detroitnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090203/SPORTS05…

Quote: Best recruiting experience: "It was something simple. I bought a rosary for myself in Louisiana (on official visit to LSU). Plus there was all the traveling and food. That's where I gained all my weight. The LSU trip was the best --the spinach dip. I didn't think I would like it but it was real good. "

1. 4.4 = FAKE 2. Maybe we offered him but practically every report indicated that we weren't very interested. UM might have been interested in Caper (who is the speedier of the two MSU recruits), but the bowling ball backs like Baker aren't guys we're recruiting at this point. Look at last year's RB recruits and this year's recruits.

I love how when Baker was asked "Why not UM?" "Because they're arrogant." I hope somebody knocks his ass on the field every play.

I went to HS with him, he's a good kid. I like that he started out by saying UM has the better program, at least. He's going to be a stud.

I liked how quite a few of the Sparty recruits were like "They didn't offer me" or " They didn't seem all that into me". Dantonio is really recruiting the State. It's more like he is taking leftovers.

Most of the "Why not UM?" questions were answered by "Because they didn't offer, or no interest." So technically, we can't lose a recruiting battle we aren't fighting, eh Tom?
