I'm not sure we'll ever know what happened here. Somewhere within the athletic department, there was a disconnect or a mistake made, because he was cleared by the Clearing house and apparently got an A on the class that Michigan had him take to qualify at UM. Something obviously went wrong somewhere, but I don't expect to ever know what.
