Softball wins first home game in 695 days, 6-1 vs. MSU.
I was lucky enough to be at the game ( along with Juwan Howard). There was even an inside the park homer for 〽️. (It easily could have been scored an error, bounced in front of the outfielder and went to the wall , speedy runner scored).
I just saw a replay of the inside-the park HR. Wow, what a terrible right fielder!!! That should have been an easy out.
Have not given up more than 5 runs in a game-nine shut-outs. All 4 losses have been by 1 run. Won 11 out of last 12.

What a blessing it is to have someone like Coach Hutchins and her almost 1600 wins wearing maize and blue. No controversy or unwanted headlines, just year in and year out excellence.

Beubien is still here? Talk about a name that feels like it’s been around forever
Hail to the Victors!
Beaubien is a senior.

She is a senior but, unless I am mistaken, has 1 more year of eligibility if she chooses to take it.
She used years of eligibility in 2018, 2019, and 2021. She played in 2020 but I understand nobody was charged with a season in 2020 because of the early cancellation of the season due to COVID.
Remarkable how Storako has taken over as the ace this season. Second in the nation in ERA and K/IP, though the Big Ten bubble concept means she hasn't yet faced top competition. She and Beaubien complement each other in style and the R/L concept.
They lead the Big Ten, but haven't yet played Minnesota or Northwestern, who have already played each other. Should go down to the wire with those three teams and that will be an important race, since the conference probably won't get to host any regionals. Seeding may mean the difference between a winnable regional and traveling to Oklahoma, for example.
