This Season

If everyone can just calm down a bit and take these next comments and think deeply about them. We are 5-5 right now with 3 of those losses by a combined 10 points. MSU by 6 in OT, Iowa by 2 on the road, and Purdue by 2 at home. Of course we got smoked by a really good Penn State team by 25 and a healthy Juice Williams by 25. Everyone says our defense is so bad...look at the games we have been in at the end with a chance at winning. RR is still keeping games close with this team being really young and our horrible safety/corner play. We have the ability to keep a game close because our offense scores points pretty consistently and our defense occasionally makes a good stand late in the game when we need them much like against ND. We improved in the Purdue game with our bad TO margin and if we protect the football and just play our game instead of worrying about what the other team is gonna do I like our chances against Wisconsin and OSU. BTW I'll be in section 24 row 5 on Nov 21 contributing to the loudest and biggest crowd that has ever been at a college game. GO BLUE!!

We have been extremely close to winning a couple more games this year but we have also been just as close to losing indiana and ND and being a 3 win team again. "You are what you are" and right now we are a 5-5 team with a porous defense and inconsistent offense. hopefully 2 weeks from now we are 7-5 or 6-6. We could be 8-2 right now. We could be 3-7 right now. We are young, we'll get better. This season has not gone the way I had hoped or expected but it is what it is. I do see improvement even through the shitty losses.

And wish I could be just so. In fact, here's something positive: I was listening to the Purdue feed on XM radio. At times, expecially late in the game, the crowd was so loud I had trouble hearing the Purdue announcers. There's no doubt there is still a lot of optimism surrounding the Rich Rod hire, and if Saturday's crowd is any indication (minus a smattering or two of boo birds), well, hopefully Rich Rod feels secure and he and the players feed off it.

and was forced to XM as well. Take heart you don't have to listen the Purdue telecast. XM for some reason decided to use their coverage, it was some of the worst announcing (or lack there of) I have ever heard. Analysis consisted of debating what plays they yelled loudest on.
