Regarding the weekend's schadenfreude...
Not to be a buzzkill, but can we just all remember that the greatest thing that happened to Michigan football this weekend was the amazing win?*
Just remember the greatest thing that can happen to Sparty is a Michigan loss, but the greatest thing that can happen to Michigan is a Michigan win.
Let's not enjoy it too much until we play them. If we win, then we can talk all we like.
*-I do admit, I have this image of Dantonio up in his office, alone at his desk, sitting quietly. He pounds his fist on the desk and yells aloud, "I OWN this state! How did this happen?"

My heart was warmed knowing that the Sparty jackasses I work with would be a little quieter at work this week. However, when I got an angry drunk text from one of them on Saturday, I texted back "It's just one game."
I agree, let's wait 'til Oct. 3rd and be prepared to rub it in then!

You're going to pretend to not enjoy the MSU loss until later? That's not fooling anyone.
"Just remember the greatest thing that can happen to Sparty is a Michigan loss, but the greatest thing that can happen to Michigan is a Michigan win."
The numerous posts about the OSU and MSU losses contradict this. If you don't like seeing a rival lose, then they aren't much of a rival.

"If you don't enjoy seeing a rival lose, then they aren't much of a rival."
Sparty lost "real" rival status after their third loss to CMU since the 90's.

Be undefeated until we play them because it makes the win that much sweeter.
I think that if you polled the buckeyes that sometimes post here and ask them if it felt good beating up on Michigan last year I think that most of them will say that they'd rather have beat a 9-3 Michigan team versus a 3-9 team.
A rivalry is based upon mutual respect which is why the Michigan/ND/OSU rivalries are so great. That is not the case in the MSU rivalry because we'll always think of you as our little brother in football and you'll always think of us as those arrogant pricks in Ann Arbor.
***EDIT*** This doesn't mean that I don't enjoy seeing ND and OSU lose but I would rather (for the good of the conference have had OSU win last night but I might be in the minority there)

FWIW, being an out-of-stater, Sparty losing made me chuckle, but it's not "oh my god I love it when State loses like this." I would have chuckled like that regardless of who lost in that matter (except Michigan; although, I just might due to the ridiculousness of the Wolverines situation). The schadenfreude involved in a loss like that is fun regardless of fan base.

Good for a consistent laugh, and nothing more. It's humorous rather than any kind of validation of our team's standing. Irish, Spartan, and Buckeye tears are the mother's milk.

I live in Michigan. I have heard from Sparty fans about how Rich Rod has ruined the program, how they own recruiting, how they are now the dominate program in Michigan, how this will be 40 years of them winning, App state, Toledo, 3-9, etc, etc, etc. Central winning will extinguish all that noise until we play them. That is why I appreciate what Central did.
There is no doubt that the win over ND is far and away more important then what happened to Little Bro. It is just a nice little cherry on top of a huge Maize and Blue ice cream sundae.

Most of the schadenfreude posts here have been focused on ND (whom we just played).
