Eamon Brennan points out that Charlie Weis points out that Charlie Weiss, who position-coached a Superbowl-winning team, has friends from when he coached in the NFL*, on a team that won the Superbowl, which is the pinnacle of pro football.

Weiss thought that he would walk into that job and win NC after NC. The Pats had great success when he was there but the success has cotinued after he left so I would tend to think it was not his mentorship that brought the success but the leadership of the cheater (Belickick) and a Michigan Man (Brady). Notre Dame is in a terrible spot right now and I think it is funny that it was a Michigan Man that made the deal look so good to put them in this position.
