OT: Justin Rogers in the Transfer Portal

No, we're not doing this for every kid who enters the transfer portal.

However, Rogers is from Detroit (Oak Park), he's a 5* NG who Michigan recruited until the "pull" from the SEC was just too much. He was a c/o 2020 (and we didn't land an interior DL that year).

He'd provide some quality depth with Mazi heading to the NFL.

Cam Goode said he's coming back, but other than that all we have is Kenneth Grant and Ike Iwunnah.

That said, I'd expect more Mason Graham and Kris Jenkins...and then Rayshaun Benny on the DL with them, while Moore/McGregor hold down one EDGE spot and Harrell/Okie rotate the "Ojabo" EDGE position. When we need to go big, take Benny out and bring Grant on. Not a ton of depth on the DL.

I do not believe Michigan is looking at a NG right now. So it is probably irrelevant, but just a blast from the not so distant pass. And a local kid.

On a semi-related note...Deone Walker, from Cass Tech, is still at UK. He was 2nd Team All-SEC as a true freshman NG. 😳

Clink did recruit him, so if there's mutual interest I wouldn't mind. The guy was a 5* for a reason, but I have no idea what his stats were like at Kentucky.

PFF was a 71. Posted 35 tackles and 1.5 sacks. His list of candidates are the ones that are dishing out money (presumably). Oregon, UL, UGA, Miami, and Colorado. I think it’s safe to say he has no intentions coming back and playing with Clink.

I have a strong sense he's not going to consider UM, which makes sense considering he never really considered UM initially.  Wish him luck but color me unsurprised he never quite hit at Kentucky.
