OT: Interesting article on myth of southern speed

Interesting article debunking the myth that players from southern schools are faster than their northern counterparts. I always thought that the notion of SEC SPEED!!! was a myth concocted by announcers to add some depth to their analysis, so it is nice to see some science proving it out (at least this year).
southin speed never seem to showup at the NFL combine...hmmm!
I actually thought the Chait article it linked to was even better. It's a good read and actually cites Michigan examples: http://www.slate.com/id/2060524/ --thanks for the post
One thing I noticed is the type of game they play. When I hear the term "Southern" or "SEC", I don't think straight line speed. I think of quickness and change in direction. Their game is based on those premises. They know how to use that down there. Example: Steve Breaston. He would have been a monster in one of those schools, but UM didn't really know how to use him. Get those jackrabbits in space and make 'em catch you.
cRR knows how to do this and that's the game we will play. I love it!
