Slow sports month, but might be an interesting story for those still following former Wolverine great Jake Butt's career:

Source: The #Broncos have signed former #Steelers and #Seahawks TE Nick Vannett on a 2-year deal.

LINK.

It makes for a crowded position group in Denver now with 5 total (former Big Ten) TEs on the roster:

  • Michigan's Jake Butt
  • Iowa's Noah Fant
  • Wisconsin's Troy Fumagalli
  • Ohio State's Jeff Heuerman
  • Ohio State's Nick Vannett

It was very frustrating.

That Dalvin Cook fella was a slouch that our LB's should've been able to shut down. Our O-line should've manhandled them. Our overall team speed should've matched theirs.

Also in hindsight, since him and Ben G are both Vikings their skill level must be the same and true Freshman Metellus in his first game action should've filled in for Peppers seamlessly.

Harbaugh hindered all those things from happening since Hoke recruited so well and there was no gap.

I'm not surprised that that was the beginning of the vocal minority starting to clear their throats to step up to the microphone, especially following that Even Stevens, non-mismatch in Columbus.

LOL - I was going to say.  Not just 5 Tight Ends, but 5 B1G Tight Ends!  Hoarding them like toilet paper!

I've never thought that John Elway knows what he is doing as a GM.  But folks in Denver love him, so he gets a long leash.
