OT - Best position your kid can play

Submitted by BornInAA on
Tonight, I signed my 8 year old up for the 2nd season of tackle football. My wife complains that I should pressure the coaches to make him quarterback. I disagree - linebacker has 4x the slots to play than the quarterback and linebackers get to run the defense like the QB runs to offense. In addition, there is no pressure on a LB - only sacking glory. PLUS LBs get to kill QBs - basking in glory while the QB gets concussion love from their stupid supermodel (gold digger) girlfriends. What say you?

they be rotating positions anyway? Not sure how youth football works, but in youth hockey they recommend rotating positions at the 10 and under age levels. Of course you occasionally run into idiot parents in hockey who drop a grand on goalie equipment for their 6 year old (who can't skate yet) and then demand that they play goalie every game.

When running drills, the coaches should be able to see what a kid can and cant do. They kid...alot of times dont know what they can and cant do until put in a position to perform.
