OT: BC AD.....Sorry Brian...Did not see your AOL before I did this
I came across the linked article tonight. I found it to be interesting. Coach wants to better himself by looking into an NFL head coaching job, and AD says "You do that, you'll be fired". LOL Now this is another one of the psycho ex-girlfriend situations. Not in the WF'nVU, "You cheated on me and I will make your life HELL" kind of way but in the "If I can't have you no one will" kind of way.
I just found it a little wierd that the AD would come out to the media this way. Can you imagine Martin doing that to RR or any other coach at UM. Maybe there are some contractual issues, but keep it in house. That AD made his university look like a sorority house.
Am I off base here? Kind of makes you appreciate the Athletic Dept we have.

Off hand I can think of several people I've known who had to deal with bosses like this. I knew one woman who was fired from her job when she interviewed for another, and another who would have been if she hadn't quit first.
On one hand, I can understand the attitude. The AD wants a loyal coach. Fine.
On the other hand, is it worth the disruption to the program? This has got to have a horrible effect on recruiting for this year, and the guy's only been there for two years. In addition, I can't imagine this would make it easier to attract good candidates--regardless of whether or not they're going to be "loyal."

If they had an agreement, don't go flirt with other teams. But geez, that AD hurt the program more than he helped it by his reaction.
