Notre Dame (injury note)
Two defense players for Notre Dame out for significant time.
“Notre Dame came away with a win against Virginiabut is losing a few important defensive players after the game. Coach Brian Kelly announced on his teleconference Sunday that defensive end Daelin Hayes is out for the year with a torn labrum and cornerback Shaun Crawford is out for three to four weeks with a dislocated elbow.”

Wonder if Shaun Crawford will get a 9th year of eligibility due to the injury

Poor Damn Shaun Crawford. The most fragile 36 year old on earth.

Fuck Shaun Crawford.

Wow two names I remember from Michigan crootin.

They’re a good team w/o those guys but no way are they a Top 10 team.
ND has the benefit of manipulating their schedule which almost nobody else can do. They’ve been super fortunate over the past few years that USC Stanford and VaTech are terrible. At best a 5th place team in SEC.
September 29th, 2019 at 5:48 PM ^
Manipulating there schedule? It's not like they made it once they found out USC, Stanford, and the ACC teams scheduled would suck. Dude they scheduled those games and still played a home and home with Georgia and us. You can say a lot of things about ND, but they don't schedule easy.

Notre Dames continued ability to chose their schedule, choose their times and television, and not have to play in a conference championship game is example 1 of the corrupt power of the NCAA.
September 29th, 2019 at 7:02 PM ^
Doesn't it illustrate how little power the NCAA has?
It would be easier for them if Notre Dame joined a conference for football.

Their lack of a CCG will likely eliminate any chance at the CFB playoffs appearance this year (barring utter chaos at the top). No CCG means they had zero room to slip up. They slipped up, and now it's out of their hands.

That makes me so sad to read. Now lose another and slide out of the NY6.

ouch, crawford has had a rough go - i followed his name a little as a former um commit and i recall him suffering multiple knee injuries

What is 'To hell with,' Alex?

When I had a scout.com account, I had that statement in my signature. I remember posting once on Irish Eyes. It took me a couple of months to figure out why they banned me.

Don't get me wrong, this will help us, but I never root for injuries to players. Sucks for them after all the hard work put in.
That said, if it was an injury to Brian Kelly himself, gotta admit that I wouldn't be upset at all, particularly after he let that videographer kid die on that scaffolding.
Don't understand how he still has a job....anybody who cares about other human beings would have told that kid to get down out of there in high winds.
Cannot beat him by enough points for me............

Breaking news: Kelly made the Purple Face one to many times and now it’s permanent. Shudda listened to his mom.

Crawford’s injury was nasty, you could see his forearm in the wrong direction. That guy has had horrible luck with an ACL, then an Achilles tear, another ACL, now this.
September 29th, 2019 at 6:53 PM ^
If he had gone to Michigan, he would have gotten a firm handshake 3 years ago.
September 29th, 2019 at 5:10 PM ^
3-4 weeks means Crawford could be back by our game.
September 29th, 2019 at 5:49 PM ^
Hopefully he is back and trying to play. Gotta think his backup is better than him, as injured as he has become.
September 29th, 2019 at 7:20 PM ^
No way he's back for our game. Purple Yogurt Slinger just said 3-4 to make Michigan guess if he will be out there.
September 29th, 2019 at 8:49 PM ^
I laughed out loud at that nick name. Pure Gold my friend, Pure Gold.
September 29th, 2019 at 5:10 PM ^
4 weeks? He will be back just in time for the Michigan game.
September 29th, 2019 at 5:11 PM ^
Wasn't Crawford in the same class as Charles Woodson?
September 29th, 2019 at 5:21 PM ^
Or I think decommitted when they let Bump Elliott go?

Medical care for Crawford’s injuries will be covered by Medicare...
September 29th, 2019 at 6:24 PM ^
Not sure why this a conversation and why we are even playing them with schedule we have. Let's play schools that can figure out what conference they want their teams in ... not multiple for the sake of what is best for them. How is this even allowed?
September 29th, 2019 at 7:01 PM ^
Listen to Brian’s podcast. It’s allowed because Warde Manual is not smart.

Dislocated elbow. Ew. Just like Riddick in pitch black.
September 30th, 2019 at 6:51 AM ^
I don't think it will matter. I don't like our chances in that game.
September 30th, 2019 at 6:23 PM ^
They will mis that DE.
