Netflix: QB1 Season 3 is Now Streaming

This season follows number one ranked Spencer Rattler, now at Oklahoma, Lance LeGendre, now at Maryland, and Nik Scalzo, now at Kentucky, through their senior years and signing days.  It’s a Peter Berg production and I think very well done.

Consider this a heads up, I guess.

JD Johnson comes across as a very good kid who's level headed. Rattler is kind of back and forth for me. The other two seem like pretty likable kids for the most part.

Thanks, looking forward to checking this out. For the record, I was not very impressed by Justin Fields’ prowess as a leader or his character in the previous edition of QB1.  He also appeared inconsistent in reading defenses and his accuracy, which has been a consistent theme.  I enjoyed that season quite a bit.

I keep trying to convince myself of that, but truth is, I was super impressed when I watched it. He's an elite athlete. I thought maybe his only weak point was that he grew up in such a nice, upper-middle class household there was a certain laissez-faire attitude he brought onto the field (and definitely off the field) that made me feel like he wasn't as passionate or hungry as some players I've seen. Overall I found him likable, unlike Tate "Is My Hair Perfect?" Martell.

Definitely got the feeling he could live without football, which, good for him life-wise, but maybe not football-wise. We shall see. I expect he'll be pretty good right out of the gate. He's got the skills.

Having watched a few scattered episodes and now the first couple of Season 3, I'm not a huge fan of the show. It's cool that you get pretty extensive highlights, but otherwise the show feels like one part character study, three parts melodrama, and three parts motivational t-shirt (whereas Last Chance U feels a lot more character study and less motivational t-shirt).

The Florida kid and Spencer Rattler come off as though their opinion of themselves is greater than their talent, especially the way they both constantly blame their team and/or coaches for bad outcomes.

The New Orleans kid seems down to earth and a good respectable kid. My favorite part is how big of a role the local barbers ( and their shop ) play in his life , loaning jewelry and a car to him so he can go to prom in style ( especially since he just got his license )

This season the talent seems a bit lower overall.

And I know he ended up at the worst possible place , but Fields looked extremely special in his season. Never want to see a kid fail , but maybe an off game in November would be fine.
