Need for a Mgoblog Time Capsule??

Submitted by Ziff72 on
After reading thru the list of Big Will supporters, I thought back to all the heated discourse over the spring about Will's playing time. Then I remembered all the other debates when someone called his shot or stated a contrarian opinion that got blasted to bits on the boards only to be proven right. Like, Roh is going to start, Magnus's Boubacar blows you are going to be disappointed epinion(story's not completely over, but Magnus has the lead at the turn). I know it is difficult, because there are so many threads that contain outlandish predictions(did I just post we'll avg 50pts a game, doh?), but while draft reports and recruit class ratings are fun they pale in comparison to the 5 yr look back at said analysis and how wrong or right they were. ESPN's contrarian Craig Roh is the top guy in our class looks good so far. Any thoughts? Maybe we could have 1 monster thread that is put up in August that people could post all their knowledge on(no not that KNOWLEDGE) and strong epinions then after a few days Brian can lock and archive it for yearly review where he could mock or praise as need be. Full Disclosure-This has nothing to do with my inability to find my "Big Will Concerns" post, that if points were around at the time I would have been digging out of negative points until 2012 or wait we'll all be dead so I would have never gotten out of negative. Full Discloure 2-Still believe in Big Will, but until his technique is overhauled and his body has had the full 2 year Barwis reconstruction it is hard to evaluate. Many of the players talk about a lack of power early as Barwis strips em down before they power up. My guess is he starts alongside Martin next year in a little beefier Dline with Martin sliding to RVB's spot and RVB taking over for Graham.

I thought the forum only had a limited life, per Brian when he was describing some format changes. I'm sorry if that was in error. I think a single thread would be easier as there are predictions made in thousands of threads that would require a ridiculous amount of time searching. This would be 1 post that you could scroll thru. 3 years form now if someone said I see something in Teric Jones, he's going to be the starting corner by the time he's a Junior and made some valid points to justify his post he should get his proper credit or shame, not just get negged into oblivion for being a moron. Some people hate history, that's fine but I love reviewing the old recruiting classes and see the bombs and surprises and what people thought of them at the time. My buddy 1st introduced me to recruiting by telling me we got the next Barry Sanders in Kelly Baraka. Um...not so much.

Somebody should dig up Magnus thread last year in the wake of The beav's decommitment. Remember, something like "Everyone panic we just lost our third string QB".....he was mocking those who were jumping off the ledge.....I think even Brian stepped in and called him an idiot. That's classic considering where we are now and that the Beav is struggling right now to make an impact at Tulsa. It's too early to say anything about the Beav's future, but perhaps that angst last December was a tad, uh, premature. JUST DONT EVER DIG UP ANY OLD BIG 10 PICKS, BOWL CHRONICLE OR MARCH MADNESS PIECEs OF MINE. Unless, of course, they have winning records. I really should delete the losers.

Nice work Jamie that was pretty funny and thanks again for the info that when the Spartans and Wildcats get together it's a wild one lots of points!!! Thought you would appreciate my dilemma. I did a preseason parlay with the future games I made the 1st 3 got 3 to go. Alabama-13 vs Ten near 20 now I feel ok Oregon -6 vs Wash thought I was toast after week 1 line is 10 now.. dicey but ok. Ill -6 vs Michigan Holy shit did I fuck that up. That would qualify as a bad call!!!!

Hey, its not my fault the Sparties slept walked through the first half. A TD outta them before halftime and that Over hits. Stinkin' Sparties. And, no offense, I hope that parlay burns to the ground next Saturday beginning at 3:30!! Otherwise, i would be pulling for you to hit it. Everyone should get the pleasure of nailing a sweet parlay (or 2, or 3, or 4) during their gambling lives.

I wonder if its less funny, more funny or about the same level of funny as my PSU plus the points over USC in that Rose Bowl. We might need to do a compare and contrast exercise. Seriously, one day I will rip one of pick diaries to shreds FJM style.....or if someone else wants to, its fair game!! And, thanks for the kind words. I have done three picks series here (this year's Big 10 picks is #4) and they have all produced winning records, even with some rather inglorious moments sprinkled in.
