Anyone know why the matches only add up to 7? I thought there were 4 singles and 4 doubles, is that different in college?

I haven't watched recently, but I think it has the same setup: there are 3 doubles matches (1 set each). Whichever side wins 2 matches gets 1 point. And then 6 singles matches (each is best 2 of 3 sets), played for 1 point each.

Couple of interesting tidbits about NCAA tennis for tennis players out there. Matches are played with no-lets on the serves. No advantage scoring. And you warm up with your teammates, not with your opponents. All rules that I think should be transferred to USTA at the amateur level.
