Michigan Women's Tennis Sweeps Notre Dame

Submitted by VCavman24 on

Today the Michigan Women's Tennis Team, Big Ten Regular Season Champions and Tournament Runners-Up (for the 9th straight season), played Notre Dame in Ann Arbor.  The women dominated early, winning the doubles point (8-4, 8-3, 5-8) and then won three matches.  With the 4-0 sweep, Michigan will face the winner of Long Beach St/Oklahama St vs UCLA/Army.  Neither of those first round matchups have finished yet.  UCLA is the number 7 team in the nation, so odds would suggest Michigan will meet UCLA in the Sweet 16.  Michigan's next match will be on Friday in Urbana, Illinois.  This is Michigan's fourth straight Sweet 16 appearance, and could be Michigan's best chance for a first-ever Elite Eight appearance.  Root for UCLA to lose to help ease Michigan's path.  Below are the results:

Michigan vs. Notre Dame
Singles
 No. 1 -- No. 30 Emina Bektas (U-M) d. Britney Sanders (ND) 6-3, 6-3
 No. 2 -- No. 48 Ronit Yurovsky (U-M) d. Jennifer Kellner (ND) 6-2, 6-0
 No. 3 -- Brooke Bolender (U-M) dnf. Quinn Gleason (ND) 2-6, 2-5
 No. 4 -- No. 99 Sarah Lee (U-M) d. Chrissie McGaffigan (ND) 6-4, 6-0
 No. 5 -- Amy Zhu (U-M) dnf. Katherine White (ND) 2-6, 6-2, 0-1
 No. 6 -- Kristen Dodge (U-M) dnf. Molly O'Koniewski (ND) 6-1, 4-3

Doubles
No. 1 -- No. 6 Brooke Bolender/Emina Bektas (U-M) d. Jennifer Kellner/Chrissie McGaffigan (ND), 8-3
No. 2 -- Sarah Lee/Mimi Nguyen (U-M) d. Julie Sabacinski/Britney Sanders (ND), 8-5
No. 3 -- Quinn Gleason/Katherine White (ND) d. Ronit Yurovsky/Kristen Dodge (U-M), 8-4

Order of Completion: Doubles 1-3-2; Singles

Congratulations ladies!

Two non-revenue sports posts and a bizarre hypotehtical about adding another sport all within 24 hours.

There wasn't all that much wrong with him when he wasn't throwing his internet temper tantrums, alerting the Big Ten's copyright attorneys about UofM videos on YouTube, or making bizarre claims about designing the Crisler Center banners.

If you're him and you behave, that's fine.  If you're not him, that's fine too.  You just have very similar posting habits.

I am not him, I just love the University of Michigan, its academics, its athletics, and all that the school stands for.  I have been born and raised in the greatest state and plan to live in the greatest state.  I have a sibling at Michigan, four cousins at Michigan, my father went to Michigan, both of his parents went to Michigan, and three of his grandparents went to Michigan.  I have many cousins who went to Michigan and my great-grandfather was a regent at Michigan.  I truly love Michigan and wish for succes in every field, whether it be a non-revenue sport or an engineering student.  Consequently, I am intrigued by all sports, and wish to share every sport's achievements, to highlight that Michigan is in fact, the Leaders and the Best.  Go Blue.

Why would I alert attorneys to take down videos when I had videos of my own on youtube taken down? That makes no sense? But that doesn't surprise me much since it came from you.

Why don't you go back and read the thread-

You better be a little nicer. I'm the only one who has an archive of ALL of WH's video content of old games that was lost and am putting them on an external hard drive to assist akarpo with MGoVideo.

I never said you asked them to take them down.  I said you let them know that they were out there:

He knows about your videos being effected by this as well. I mentioned all 4 of us in the email a few times. I had only 6 videos blocked and I still have the master copies of the uploaded videos.

Besides, I will not be nicer just because you happen to have the archive footage.  It doesn't really interest me either way.

"I then emailed him back and asked him about us (WH, goblue16, Thorin and myself) who post highlight videos, if we would be able to continue to do it."

I think this is the offending bit, in OMG Shirtless' eyes. Notice that OMG Shirtless didn't speculate about your motives, by the way.

And yeah, OMG Shirtless! You'd better be nicer to this guy. Otherwise he'll stop doing something he started doing voluntarily, that you never asked him to do, and that likely will have zero impact on you whatsoever.

*Edit: Aaaannnd I'm late. Now I look sillier than I would otherwise have for posting with a winnie the pooh character for an avatar/profile picture thing.
