Michigan Softball 8-0 Run Rule win in 5 over UNC
Meghan Beaubien got the start and pitched the complete game (5-innings). I saw Meghan pitch a couple times early in the season, and she looked a little shaky. Today, she looked sharp and confident and took it right to UNC. The Michigan D was on point, as almost every out was on fly balls or grounders.
A big 2nd inning saw Michigan score 4, with another big one in the 5th with another 4 scored.
The difference in defense was amazing. Meghan had a pitch count of barely 60. The UNC pitcher was over 120 when she got pulled in the top of the 5th after giving up a 2-run homer (her second home run of the inning).
UNC drops to 9-7 while Michigan moves up to 10-5, with another solid offensive performance.

They’ve only lost to one unranked team so far and have played their usual challenging non conference schedule. I think they will do really well in the bigten again this year.
NC committed many errors though. A win is a win and it is nice to see the bats heating up.
Despite what Cobra Kai taught you, there is mercy (rule) in this dojo.
The men’s team is doing well on their road trip, too. If only we had a domed baseball stadium to play home games in the spring
