Michigan makes the top 6 with Illinois, Seton Hall, Wake Forest, Western Illinois, and Pitt. Weston is the #63 player in the composite and #60 player on 247.

We haven't really heard much about Weston as of late likely because of the Bufkin and Barnes commitments and I'm interested to know if he's still a take at this point

We have 2 open spots for 2021 as of today. Top priorities for those are likely a PG and a C. With Frankie Collins committing on Wednesday, it seems likely he will get dibs on the PG slot. Efton Reid seems most likely for the C slot but I'm not sure how imminent a commitment is.

Beyond that we likely have 2 more slots opening up. There are several possibilities, but a Chaundee Brown waiver for 2020-2021 and a Franz Wagner early entry are the most likely. I would guess the plan is best available wing and a transfer for those spots.

I think Weston could take that best available wing slot. We would prefer other prospects like Ingram or Keels but I'll consider that a good problem if we have to make a choice.

2 spots as of now, but I think it'll be 3 spots so two spots will be reserved for PG and a big so that leaves one spot to be a wing player. One potential player to watch for early declaration is Franz Wagner. Another is Chaundee Brown's eligibility status is still up in the air. If he's eligible this season, that opens up another spot.

Things are, evidently, heating up on the Michigan BB recruiting front. A kid like Weston is likely a take...similar to the Hopkins kid. These are the multi-positional players Juwan has been talking about. Weston and Hopkins are strong kids who play the game well and while they are more naturally slotted as threes they can slide to the 2 and 4 positions because of their natural strength. Weston seems a bit more athletic.

I would consider it good news that Michigan doesn’t have to go the the horseshoe and play against Fields and the rest of the 5* players that they have at every position. Would rather take the their chances against Stroud as he unlikely to put up the numbers that Fields was able to put up last season and would probably be even better in year two of the system. Let him go to the league so we don’t see him again. Bye Felicia
