Michigan Hockey Loses to Dartmouth 3-2
Just got back from the Michigan Dartmouth hockey game. Michigan was out played for almost 60 minutes. Dartmouth scored the game-winning goal with less than a minute to go in the 3rd. They were out shot by almost a 2 to 1 ratio. Hopefully, there are better things to come in this season. Go blue.

But a very bad weekend for both Hockey and Volleyball nonetheless.

I think Basketball is also miles off the radar as well.
This Hockey season is going to be brutal. Very young. Just can't generate shots. Reminds of Wisconsin a couple years when they had a ton of freshmen. Hope it doesn't come to that.
At least Red didn't dump this problem into his successor's hands.

We haven't been good in hockey since that championship game in 2011. Oh well we're still better than sparty

Not great, no. But last year's team was quite good and was tons of fun.

I just don't think people are gonna put much emotion into it until after the Football season ends and maybe even then some.
Hard to get up for Central Arkansas or Mount St. Mary's which is played after The Game.
Home or away, ain't nobody gonna be there. Because regardless of result, The Game takes everything out of you.

I don't think any cavalry is going to arrive for this team. This is going to be a struggle until Red retires, then hopefully the next guy can pump some life back into this program

Reports I read suggested that Michigan played even for the first period before getting, typically, plowed under in the second and third. Disappointing to lose so late, but that is sort of the good luck from early on balancing out.
This is just, plainly, a bad team. I suspect the least talented team since all here except Alton were fans in the 80s. The advanced stats so far are frightfully bad, bottom-of-the-country bad, the sort of thing that even a significant improvement in the team can only correct to mediocre.
It's not going to be a fun season. This is probably it for Red (who has indisputably earned the right to hang on too long), which is sad, but it had to happen someday. I hope Warde is committed to the hockey program, unlike his compatriot in East Lansing.
I'm glad football is so fun to watch right now.

This is the worst possession team I have ever seen at Michigan. They can't clear the zone, they can't gain it and when they do manage to get in-zone there's no zone time at all.
Even that 2013-14 team that just threw the puck at the NZ to clear had better possession than this team.
