The Wolverines opened the season with a 6-2 victory over Fresno State earlier today. Hopefully, we can keep the momentum going with another win tonight. Prayers to the MSU community and Go Blue!

Very impressive performance by O'Halloran and Rennard on the mound in the Fresno State win.  0 walks & 0 HBP--not something Michigan could do very often last season.

2 Home Runs by 2B Ted Burton was pretty much all of the offense they needed.

Wow baseball season already? Amazing we just beat a California team in the dead of winter. Just goes to show you how winter condition and training has improved so much. I'm well aware that Michigan has also probably practiced outdoors in warm weather some. But It's still bad ass to me.

Woof, this pitching staff is going to be a roller coaster ride.  Pretty good appearance by the grad transfer from Ohio U, Eamon Horwedel, and also a good 1-2-3 inning by Jake Keaser.  It's just that the two good bullpen appearances were sandwiched around a 5-run inning.

Game is not over by any means, 8-6 Sparty through 7.

Well, not today.

15-8 MSU final in a game that really showed Michigan's lack of pitching depth.  New coach Tracey Smith is just going to have to cobble together a pitching staff from maybe 5 servicable arms.  I think Michigan will do better when they don't have to play 4 games in 3 days like they do this weekend.

Michigan has UC San Diego tomorrow and Grand Canyon University on Sunday, and they have Walker Cleveland and Jacob Denner to start 1 game each.  No idea where the relief pitchers will come from, other than throwing them out there one by one and seeing who is hot.
