It helps Beilen out but damn. I think the football season is bad then I go over and read up on the hoops guys. What Michigan needs is a stand alone PF and a serious swing gaurd for Beilen.

I take it as my personal responsibility to keep the MGoBlogosphere up-to-date on the latest 3.5 * basketball recruits.  If U-M beats Cornell and Princeton for 2 * Will Barrett, expect a full write up.

I wish the first part of that last sentence was a joke.

To be fair, they are taking that guy for depth off the bench.  They have one scholarship and no other realistic targets left.  Just don't let Amaker get him.  Good lord would we never hear the end of that.

...I would prefer to hold the schollie for Brandt or wait until 2010.  However, that's easy for me to say when I don't have to worry about the pressing concern of front court depth.  FWIW, ESPN is very high on Barrett, so maybe they see what Beilein's seeing.

EDIT:  I was looking at ESPN wrong.  They have Barrett in the 150-200 range.

So would it be safe to say that this is Michigan's best class since the Horton/Abrams class?

...Harris, Petway and C Sims was probably a better class coming out of HS and a year later than Horton and Abram.  Other than that, 2009's 4* PG, 3.5* SG and 3* PF/C is probably the best we've had.  Maybe Udoh, D Sims and Morris is in the debate.  Of course, this all excludes the one man class of Ron Coleman that will forever be unmatched.
