In loving memory of Bob Ufer
November 27, 2021
The day Ohio came to bury Michigan
All wrapped in maize and blue
The words were said, the prayers were read
And everybody cried
But when they closed the coffin
It was someone else inside
Oh the Buckeyes came to bury the Wolverines
But Michigan wasn't dead
And when the game was over
It was someone else instead
22 Michigan Wolverines
Put on the gloves of grey
And as the Band played "The Victors"
They laid the Buckeyes away.

Perfect! Thanks for reminding me of this classic. I hear Ufer’s voice when I read it.

Updated and stolen shamelessly from Ufer’s example….
They came to bury Michigan on a snowy November day, the Book was read, the prayers were said, and everybody cried, but when they closed the coffin, there was someone else inside! The Buckeyes were going to bury Michigan, but Michigan wasn’t dead, when they looked inside the coffin, it was someone else instead. 22 men of Michigan put on the gloves of Maize, and as Harbaugh & the Boys sang The Victors, they laid Ryan Day away!?
