Lloyd Carr on hand for First Lady's event in Detroit

Submitted by BlueinDC on

Former U-M football coach Lloyd Carr was in attendance with a number of other public figures during a luncheon today at the Detroit Institute of Art honoring First Lady Michelle Obama.

According to a pool report:

Several local officials also were present including Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, Detroit Mayor Dave Bing Michigan Congressman John Conyers and Lloyd Carr, former football coach for University of Michigan.

Other figures in attendance included Spike Lee and Magic Johnson. The first lady's trip was meant to encourage adult volunteers for mentoring children.

Not meant to spark a political debate, just communicating the news.

I'm pretty confident Spike Lee coaches a little league team.  I saw him at Central park a couple of weeks ago.  Apparently he argued a call...and got it!
