"Linebackers WANTED"

Submitted by Jayshmie007 on
Here's our current lineup of LB's we have on our roster(including recruits) O. Ezeh* JR J. Mouton* JR JB Fitzgerald SO B. Herron SO M. Evans JR I. Bell FR B. Hawthorne FR M. Jones FR K. Demens* FR I thought Ezeh played pretty solid the first three games of the year and then seemed to fall apart, mostly diving at shoelaces or filling holes without running backs....I really like Mouton and i think hes going to become a force this year. We do have some young talent coming in but who do we look at now for another LB or do we use the spot for another position?

If we get Campbell then you can add one more star to all our LB recruits. And that starting 3 of Mouton-Ezeh-Fitzgerald is pretty damn good. I say throw size out the window and get the fastest LBs possible to fill out the 2 deep. We'll be fine.

If what Gsimms says about Schafer is true then Ezeh, barring being a complete moron, should improve greatly. If Schafer's strength is being a technician then an entire off-season with Ezeh should improve his weaknesses. If Ezeh was already maxed out on smarts but was just incredibly slow, then I'd be worried. Fitz will be great because I said so...there is no hole in that argument. Mouton is only OK? Perhaps...but as far as next year goes...I thought UFR's claimed him to be on the up and up and poised for a breakout year.

amazing, here's a sample: I guess that means that RR & McGee were there with there big guts hanging over their belts telling the kids they needed to get in shape. I'm sure that all the recruits were impressed by that sight. Just like all the kids we had left this year were when these two stood in front of the team and told them they were soft. We can only suppose they were equally impressed with RR wiping his nose on his sleeve and liberally sprinkling those "Y'alls" in his conversation. And another: Sounds like Jackson and RR were reallly concerned about the kid. From what I read, they made sure he flew back from a funeral for the OSU game, despite two concussions and the kid taking himself out for the Northwestern game. I believe other coaches might have been just a tad concerned over the kids mental or physical state at that point. Not RR and Jackson. Fly him back up to field kickoffs at OSU, where the OSU kick off team was already knocking the snot out of the Wolverines. Concussion #3. Yep. Family values RR style. Boren called it, and took action. Had the guts to call the staff out also.

point well taken...but them down South boys and everyone else that Rich Rod is bringing in don't give a fuck. They ready to unleash that Pahokee aggression on unsuspecting fools. McGuff and Boren are just 2 examples. What about TTaylor, B. Graham, Will Johnson, Odoms, et al? They LOVE them some Rich Rodriguez. This kind of sick workout mentality will bring about a certian type of team in the years to follow. One that is so incredibly different that even with it's sucuess, won't revolutionize the Big Ten's ways...because how the hell do you mimic this? So, good luck to McGuff (not Boren) but this is a movement we are embarking on. WAR WOLVERINE. Also, at least they granted the kid a 'no restriction' transfer.

Mason looks...okay. He has potential. Like Barnes, he's somewhat stiff. He's a good hitter, though. He definitely needs to work on some fundamental things like his footwork and his tackling form. He takes hop steps and isn't moving forward on the snap of the ball. He also seems to attack the ballcarrier from behind instead of trying to get his head in front of the guy and drive through him. Assuming Shafer returns, I don't really see a guy like Mason or Barnes being a good fit at the MIKE. Shafer seems to like speed and athleticism, two things I don't see much of in those two. I think Ezeh has the physical skills to be a good MIKE in this defense, and so does Fitzgerald. Jelani Jenkins would be an AWESOME middle linebacker, but he could come in and play immediately at SAM.
