Lets Vent

LETS VENT: All over you hear the Big Ten sucks and is overrated. While hearing RR and the spread won't last in the Big Ten, right? Well , the Big East to many outside viewers may be better than Big Ten ( not true ). RR and the spread dominated the Big East, with 10-11 win seasons. If the Big Ten is weaker, and RRs 2-3 star recruits dominated the Big East. RR and the Wolverines with 3-5 star recruits should DESTROY the Big Ten, right? Things to happen this 2009 season: Zoltan Mesko rated #1 Punter, All-American, Heisman(sike) Brandon Graham, All-American Brandon Minor, All-American Steve Schiling, All-Connference 1st team Donovon Warren, All-Conference 1st team Obi Ezeh, All-Conference 1st team Tate Forcier, All-American Freshman first team Mike Martin, Second Team All-Conference David Cone, All-American 1st team signal caller

All that matters is that Coach Rod and his staff assemble a competent team, humiliates other football team (especially duh Ohio Hate U), wins big 10 championships and significant BCS bowl games. A NC would be nice but no one is perfect, except for Sarah Palin.

Until UM, OSU, and PSU start winning BCS bowls against teams from the Pac Ten, Big 12, and SEC, I would have to put the Big Ten fourth of the six conferences. I would put them fifth, ahead of only the Big Least, for last season. The slow, bulky midwest player just isn't a "player" anymore. Under the current system, though, this is a huge advantage for UM. With the exception of little sister, their only really tough games most years should be OSU and PSU. If UM takes care of business against the little eight, they should only have PSU and OSU as their tough games. And I am not so sure OSU will be able to keep up once the spread is fully installed. It's not like they did that well against PSU's version of the spread. Basically, the Big Ten makes it to a lot of NC games under the current system. If UM becomes the dominant force they should be, this will play into their hands, as it has for the dreaded suckeyes the last few years. Most years, a one-loss Big Ten champion can make it into the NC game. An undefeated BT champion definitely can. Out of the BCS conferences, the Big Ten might be the easiest one to get out of undefeated. So, if the little eight want to drag the conference down and OSU wants to chroincally underachieve, let the Big Ten be the fourth or fifth-best conference. As long as UM gets to the NC game every couple of years, it's all good. But the way it is this year, I don't see a Big Ten team that would be more than a .500 team in the SEC.
