Jeremiah Caldwell had been a Steve Clinkscale recruit at Kentucky:

You can see he also got an offer to Michigan by Maurice Linguist.

Caldwell had made a visit to Michigan St on June 21. And was supposed to be making a visit today:

But Allen Trieu of 247 reported he did not make the trip:

He was reportedly going to visit Michigan State over the weekend, but did not make the trip.

Steve Clinkscale picked up communication with him after leaving Kentucky and coming to Michigan:

....Clinkscale has reached out to him since arriving at UM. Don’t expect the recruiter to go down without a fight–Clinkscale is actively trying to flip Caldwell to Michigan, according to a source.

Allen Trieu had this evaluation of him:

From Allen Trieu 24/7:

Analysis:
Caldwell is a player we have always felt was under-recruited whenever we saw him play. He has excellent length and great ball skills, which can be seen on his receiver tape. He made a lot of plays this season on both sides of the ball. As far as being a corner, he has shown he can play it at his size. He can still work on pure, straight line speed, but currently can make up for that with his size and ability to play the ball. Nice pick-up for Kentucky.

We saw Caldwell live several times this season and noted this on him in their showdown with conference foe Dearborn Fordson.

"Junior defensive back Jeremiah Caldwell had an excellent game with a pick six and a touchdown catch. He is, as one college said, 'how you want them to look.' He is tall, long, fluid, and has offers from schools like Kentucky and Iowa State, but it seems an easy to bet to think that list will be much larger by this time next year. He is a big-time talent."

Great post. He seems like a worthwhile prospect and hopefully signals better cb recruiting, something desperately needed for this team.

Certainly says something about something that he didn't make the trip to EL, though I wouldn't assume he's going to UM either.  But he's a big corner and would be a nice addition to the class given the paucity from last year's class.

Good new bad news.

Deone Walker got an Alabama offer and immediately put them in his top three with UofM and Kentucky.

He is clearly underrated…but now Bama.  Fuck.

He showed quickness at camp. It sure caught my eye to see it. Alabama's too it looks like. I don't know how he got rated so low, #325 Nationally. What?

Oh, and with the quickness, I'd wager they're recruiting him at DE, as they already have Jaheim Oatis, 6'4" 370, at NT in the 2022 class.

Walter Nolen 6'4" 300 at one DE, Jaheim Otis 6'4" 370 at NT, Deone Walker 6'6" 340 at the other DE. Nuts!
