Edit. Maybe I will be amazed, but the athletic rangers reporter is saying they're going to pay a 4th round record 3.7 M bonus.which is the slot for the 17 or 18 pick. I have no clue how they will do this without forfeiting their 1st round pick next year by MLB bonus rules. For a team sitting at 10 right now, seems brave. But they may have gotten the 2 best pitchers in the draft and with Leiter last year, may think it a worthwhile gamble..

Rangers already agreed to a deal with Rocker for 5.2 million. That's 2.3 million UNDER slot value for that pick. They'll spend the extra on Porter.

Szczepanski and Pace were picked today in the 19th (Royals) and 20th (Blue Jays) round respectively. Not sure either will sign but also not sure if either are still committed after Bakich left.
