Iowa observations and the rest of the season

Woolfolk looked pretty good at the second corner spot. I just wonder if it is worth the corner upgrade to not have him at safety since Williams seemed to get burned a couple of times for big plays.

It would appear that Michigan State prepares much more for Michigan than anybody else. The running game stats at the end of last year and so far this year look pretty good overall but for the State games. I feel very good about the run game the rest of the year after last night.

Any ideas why Greg Matthews wasn't returning punts for parts of the game? I know he fumbled in the second half but I thought I saw Hemingway take a few punts before then.

Obvious observation number one, this team is a lot of fun to watch, especially after last year and I expect them to have a shot to win every game the rest of the year. Still think 8 wins is the reasonable expectation but 9 (maybe 10 with a lot of breaks) is possible.

Obvious observation number two, you don't mess with the Zoltan.

Del State = beat down. No explanation needed.

Penn State = toss up. Still not impressed with the Nittany Kittens since the only respectable opponent they've played thus far, Iowa, spanked them. I think if Michigan doesn't turn the ball over and holds down the big plays defensively, that game is a win.

Illinois = should win. Illinois is an absolute train wreck but still has enough athletes on offense to scare me. If Michigan executes well and doesn't let Juice go all Kirk Cousins on them, this game should be a somewhat comfortable win.

Purdue = should win. Purdue may be better than their record suggests but Michigan is still a better team overall and should win this game, much like the Illinois game.

Wisconsin = toss up/leaning toward likely loss. AP/Coaches/Harris voters will see the OSU/UW score and think 'Sconsin got dominated. Not so fast my friend, Wisconsin dominated the play in that game save for 2 pick 6s and a kick off return touchdown, plus a dropped touchdown pass. I think the Badgers are a really good team but if Michigan can get pressure on Tolzien and not turn the damn ball over they can win.

OSU = toss up/leaning toward likely loss. Still not impressed by the Buckeyes. Only two quality opponents were USC (loss where Pryor looked lost) and UW (big win despite being dominated most of the game). Don't let Pryor go all Troy Smith circa 2004 and Michigan can absolutely win this one.
