Happy Birthday Bo Schembechler
Happy Birthday to Bo Schembechler, who would have been 86 today, and also Happy Birthday to my daughter, Mina Blue, who turns 2.
Oh, watch out, Melinda! Once a woman is introduced to Colonel Angus, she'll settle for nothing less.

I never saw him coach but I have read a lot of his quotes and know the history. He sounds like a great guy and a even better coach. Happy birthday Bo
At Michigan!?
I'd say he was a great coach and an even greater person.
You've got to change that avatar. It's creepy and not worthy of a poster with the username Bob Timberlake (who is one of the more overlooked Michigan football greats).
Glenn Edward "Bo" Schembechler, Jr. (April 1, 1929 – November 17, 2006)
It was actually one of Bo's better known quotes that had kept me going in these last several somewhat trying years of being a very loyal Wolverine:
"In times of difficulty, those brave enough to stay the course will be victors in the end."
I would repeat that to myself quite a bit, especially this past fall. I like to think that we've begun that upward tick described in the end of the quote too.
Happy birthday, Coach Schembechler.

Bo thank you for helping make Michigan what it is today as you celebrate another birthday up in football Valhalla along with Bob Ufer and the other Michigan greats. And thank you for giving us your football son to guide us back.
And an upvote for the Colonel for reminding us about this special day.
My childhood hero. I was in the 4th grade when he stepped down as head coach but he became even more of an icon for me watching him on the Big Ten Ticket with Don Shane...(by the way, how great was that program? 95% of every episode revolved around Michigan and only the last couple of minutes concentrated on MSU.)
I could listen to Bo talk about the weather and be entertained. He was THAT cool...
And watching him rip an official who f*cked up a call or was too blind to notice an obvious penalty was like poetry in motion...
Your old team, and quarterback, are going to make you proud.
