Greenstein Award
I like Teddy Greenstein from the Chicago Tribune. He handed out his Big 10 "awards" and Rodriguez got one.
"The Charles Barkley "Honesty" Award: Rich Rodriguez. The Internet headline screamed: "Rodriguez tells Michigan fans to 'get a life.' " Not quite. Rodriguez said of the message-board maniacs who take personal shots at his players: "You almost want to tell them to get a life."
Smart thing to say? Nope. True? Yep."
That is a pretty reasonable take on it all. The first one I ever saw from a reporter.
Edit: Apparently the quote tag no longer works on forum posts?

Nice find. You're right, that might be the first article to quote him in context.

Yeah, Teddy's pretty good. His article on Charlie Weis month or so ago, with the anecdote about Weis's recruitment of Terrelle Pryor, was scathing. It was great. Here's the link:

Whoops, I meant to post the link to all his awards. There were some other good ones.

Oh yeah, the Terrelle Pryor article was amazing. I would read that every time I need to feel better.
