Great write up on Peter Thompson’s transition to UofM LAX and BEAT Dook!!!
Ann Arbor’s own Peter Thompson bided his time with the Hoyas believing he was going to get his shot while Georgetown developed the program. In 1 season donning the Maize & Blue he has eclipsed his production of 4 seasons at Georgetown! And he scored the OT game winner to complete the Hat Trick in the Wolverine’s 1st NCAA Lacrosse tourney appearance.
This is a great piece spotlighting Thompson’s perseverance and determination. Credit Conry and staff to help make this happen. Oftentimes a Cinderella run requires just the right ingredients at the right time for it to come to fruition. Thompson may be the veteran glue guy added to a talented offense that helps make it happen.
They take on top seeded Duke in the quarterfinal at Albany, NY tomorrow afternoon 2:30p on ESPNU/ESPN+. Even if you’re not a fan of lacrosse this may be a moment in Michigan sports worth tuning in to. Go Blue!!!
Beat dukie
From Feb 6, 2005 AP article on the incident...
When referee Reginald Cofer later went to check on him, Krzyzewski took the opportunity to complain about the officiating...
What a shock.
Correction: he had the hat trick in the 4th quarter against Cornell. Clutch performance with 3rd best scorer, Cohen, out.
Frosh goalie made a lot of nice stops, including in OT to give possession back to M for the winning goal, but he needs to avoid the mistakes/turnovers he had last week if we're going to beat Duke. Go Blue!
fuck dook
Quite a family… brother rowed at Stanford and three sisters played college field hockey at Northwestern, Georgetown, and Yale.
Go Blue! (And, not the Devils who don that color.)
