Gemon Green to NY Giants (UDFA)

At least he was quickly signed.
Would have been great if he was drafted, but he still has his shot.
He got better every year and I think will make the roster.
I noticed the Lions signed Adrian Martinez. Holmes is planning for a mobile QB offense after Goff, with Hooker and Martinez.
We could have used him
Kind of a bummer. Seems like a decent NIL package would have been a win-win for Gemon and Michigan.
I thought he made several winning plays on throws down the field.
He didn't win them all, but he's pretty good at football.
I hope he catches on. Clearly, tho, he should have stayed a year.
Staying another year wasn’t going to do much of anything for him. He was here 5 years, and he has his degree. A 6th year isn’t all of a sudden going to make him a draft-able corner.
Selfishly I’d want him back this year. But I don’t see what Green would gain from it.
starting on the national champions > 'turn in your playbook it's cut day'
Considering it’s FAR from certain Michigan even makes the national championship, never mind winning it, he decided to bet on himself making an NFL roster before he turns 25 this year.
So sure, IF Michigan wins the national title and IF he gets cut, it’s not ideal. The odds both of those things happen is pretty low.
He would have made more in NIL than he will make next year sitting at home.

He has a degree from the University of Michigan and connections to last a lifetime...I highly doubt he'll be "sitting at home."
Based on what? How much NIL money do you think a second corner is making? It’s not like he’s one of the high profile guys like Will Johnson, JJ, or Corum. I’d be willing to bet his NIL amounts to less than his UDFA contract/signing bonus and whatever job he would get after (hypothetically) being cut. I’d think with his football connections and a UM degree that he’d do just fine in the job market.
That’s not to mention the fact that he CAN earn a roster spot. So far, 18 undrafted players who played for Jim Harbaugh at Michigan have appeared in NFL games, and 11 have spent multiple seasons in the NFL. He’s a 6’2” corner that runs a 4.5 40. I don’t know why you’re openly assuming he’s getting cut.

Rant:
Some of you guys are seriously the worst. Seemingly incapable of empathizing with these players on any level. I implore you to take a step back and listen to yourself. You can’t conceive of a reason beyond pure draft stock that he would want to be done? He graduated. Maybe he’s just done with school. You realize how intensive graduate degrees can be, right? Maybe he wants to know sooner rather than later whether football is a viable career path or whether he’ll need to get a start on something outside. He’ll be 25 years old next season. Maybe he’s tired of hanging around a bunch of 18-20 year olds. I went back and to school at 24 after switching to a lower cost community college the first go around. The disconnect between that age and traditional college students can be shockingly big. I had little interest in that lifestyle at that point. Obviously we have no idea if any of this applies to him, but for you and the people above to be so certain that he made an incorrect decision while knowing absolutely nothing about his life is so mind boggling to me. You refuse to allow room for, well, any and every basic human emotion and blindly rip on players because their draft stock wasn’t great so “they totally fucked up.” And it happens every. Single. Draft.

With Turner off to the NFL he could have easily been the second corner opposite Will Johnson and I think could’ve made himself a higher draft pick.

He wasn't a draft pick, so he couldn't have been a higher one.
And doubtful. It would've been his 6th year. He could've contributed and we need him, but it wasn't going to change his draft status. It would've just forced him back to class and prolonged the envitiable.
Can't blame him either way.
He would have been the second corner. But he’d also be a 6th year guy. Meaning he’s highly unlikely to improve in any significant way that puts him on draft radar.
He’s played in 42 games and made 24 starts. NFL teams aren’t all of a sudden going to be enamored by his play while he’s yet another year older.
Maybe not, because he got better each year. Sometimes they bloom late.
25 would be extremely late, especially after remaining stagnant the last year or 2… drafting a guy that turns 26 just after the start of his rookie year isn’t an attractive option for teams either.
Being udfa may be better than a late pick. It allows you the opportunity to choose your situation and where you best may fit.
It does seem like, with NIL, being a key piece to the puzzle for a National Championship team might have its benefits but after five years of school he just wanted to take his shot.
Why isn’t Germon Green listed on NFL.com’s draft tracker?

You mean Gemon? Or his brother German that is still with the team? Germon isn’t a player.
Or is Germon a super-hybrid of the two? Because now I’m intrigued.

Well you could realistically have meant his twin brother German. Maybe you thought he entered the draft too.
