Freshman QB

After tonight's result I strongly believe that it is time to usher in a new era of quarterback. It's not that OKorn was terrible. In fact I thought the O-LIne was mostly responsible for our offenisve struggles tonight. Okorn surprised me in that he boucned back after a horrible start and practically got us level against all odds. The defense couldn't keep us in the game and that's not John's fault. 

But all that said, the fact is that 2 losses in the division ensures that UM will not be playing for a Big Ten championship. The only real goal we have in front of us now is beating Ohio State. That goal must be weighed against the necessity of developing a capable QB for the 2018 season as there is no guarantee that Wilton Speight will be able to suit up for us.

I think Jim would be well served to play a freshman QB now (whether it's Peters of McCaffrey makes no difference to me). Get one of these guys valuable experience for next year. Let's get the struggles out of the way now as opposed to later. Otherwise, we're looking at possiblly having to start Peters next year with absolutely zero experience under center. A decision must be made. Play for an 8 win season with Okorn or play for what will hopefully be a much better 2018 campaign.
