fitz toussaint is absurd

Submitted by turbo cool on

so, i wrote last week how i thought fitz toussaint is putting up ridiculous #'s. to completely copy and paste off of rivals, 'Toussaint picked up 246 yards on only 13 carries (18.9 yards per carry) … His four touchdowns included runs of 87 and 46 yards.' Those #'s are from his last game. ABSURD. this dude is easily our sleeper of the class. that is until he skyrockets up in the recruiting rankings b/c at this point it is bound to happen.

again, 18.9 ypc. can we agree that our backfield will just be completely stacked for the foreseeable future? oh and just for shits and giggles, 'Teric Jones carried the ball only seven times for 124 yards (17.7 yards per carry), including an 80-yard touchdown run.' so, apparently he's kinda good too.

17.7 ypc is no 18.9 but it will do.

McGuffie, Shaw, Brown, Minor, Grady,Horn, Cox....now with Jones and Toussaint comng in next year, Michigan RB's are set for the next four-five yrs.

Not to mention that Moundros and Helmouth are both Sophomores which gives Michigan that power inside running game after Grady leaves.

I'm already worried about Shaw leaving because of carries. Now we have to find a way to get Jones and Fitz carries? I'm hoping they redshirt just so we don't have a glut of talented guys riding the bench next year. As it is, Minor and Brown will be lucky to see the field and I can't imagine Horn and Cox ever playing RB/slot for us.

Admittedly, this is a nice problem to have. Maybe we can move Cox to LB.

at least not at this point. toussaint is the only true running back in this class. shaw's not going anywhere, i'm not even sure why you'd be worried about that at this point as he and mcguffie are the feature backs right now. cox isn't moving to LB, he'll be what grady is now as he's in the process of bulking up so he can be the power back in the offense.

i agree, shaw is one of the guys in this class i'd be least concerned with transferring (playing as a freshmen + having hs teammates on the squad, etc.). i wasn't surprised at all though when i heard transfer rumours about Cox, although he quickly said they weren't true. i just don't ever see the guy playing RB. both him and avery horn could be looking at other possible positions. and yeah, TETRIS Jones probably won't be a true RB, more of the slot position but that will be most of our RB recruitts from now on. Just like vincent smith.
