We really don't need to keep going out of our way to extol the wonders and virtues of a man who never coached a single Black player at Michigan by design. There's no need to qualify it with coaching records or go through the "but was just a man of his time!" song and dance – the man was racist and acted out his prejudice into the fabric of his football/athletic programs.
