Early Games Open Thread

Watching the meteor game, and it's not a promising start for lil' brother. Sad. Love a game where I can delight in the fact that one of them is going to lose today.

There are... *checks notes* ... other games too.

Michigan's pass D is way better than MSUs.  But this (OSU 3 TDs in the first quarter) is why Harbaugh's offensive philosophy is a real problem vs. OSU.

Jim's approach is predicated on running with success, which may not have an immediate payoff early in the game, but will set things up for the 2nd half and also wear down the opponent later in the game.

But...that is useless against the approach that OSU uses--score early and often by using the entire horizontal and vertical field to put the opposing D into impossible conflicts.

Body blows offense does not work when the OSU can put the game out of reach in their first three or four offensive possessions.

THIS. Our whole philosophy sets us up to just get slaughtered by OSU. It's almost even to our detriment that we have two really good rbs because it just makes harbaugh think we just have to keep chipping away at them and they'll break.

We need so uch luck and to basically not look at all like the team we've seen so far to even be close in this game. Also, even if we can get pressure when they drop back, they have a hell of a run game too.

Vincent gray should get covid mid next week.

Ryan Day/Kevin Wilson offense cannot be stopped.  It can only be slowed down...a little.

Jim's offense is not built to keep pace in shootouts.  And the only way to beat OSU is to win a high scoring shootout.

OSU's offensive approach features a ton of very intelligently designed pass tree routes, play sequences, etc. that really make it impossible for even the best defense.

To the extent Michigan's offense has intelligent features (really it is based much more on execution than intelligent play design), it lies in well-crafted run block schemes.

It is pretty obvious which approach produces more scores.

Enjoy today’s Michigan game, and remember fondly all of the good game days we’ve had this year. This week enjoy time with family, good food and drink. Next Saturday from noon to 330 is going to hurt, but we’ve felt that pain before. We will see better days again someday.

Way to give Ohio State a bye week before the Michigan game!! They can probably play the 3rd string the rest of the way and there's still 9 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.  Thanks State!!!

I'm actually hoping to see the Buckeyes put up close to triple digits against Mel Tucker today. I would enjoy a few camera spots of his facial expressions.

I'm not watching, but what is MSU doing? Why does their Heisman level RB have....5 carries at nearly halftime? You're going 3 and out in like 45 seconds of game time. Ohio State is going to put up 80 points.

Once Tuck loses Walker to the draft, this team is going to have nothing.
