College Football Risk - Day 3

Submitted by Michigan CFB R… on March 25th, 2020 at 6:59 AM

Yesterday wasn't the most pleasant turn for us. We're down to 5 territories after having a few losses due to bad RNG. However, our position is not as dire as it may seem. The first few days of the game are about developing allies and a longterm plan of attack. We are currently in the process of executing both of these things and believe the picture will become much more clear in the coming days. In the meantime, we NEED increased participation from everyone on here. We dropped to the third largest team last night with Ohio State and Georgia Tech jumping ahead of us. Please consider playing if you typically read these posts to follow the progress of the map, but don't participate. It takes about 1 minute total to sign in to your reddit account, receive an assignment on https://michigancfbrisk.com/ , and make a move on https://collegefootballrisk.com/ .

College Football Risk is officially back! Some of you may remember this game from the spring/summer of 2018. It has been brought back as an independently run game separate from the /r/cfb subreddit. A brief description of how the game works is below for those that aren’t familiar. For those that are familiar, we strongly encourage the use of the assignment system on Michigancfbrisk.com.

What is College Football Risk?

College Football Risk is a continuation of a popular CFB Risk game run by r/CFB in the Spring and Summer of 2018. It is an MMO-style game where college football fanbases compete for control of a fictionalized map of the United States. The goal is to control as much territory as possible for ultimate domination of the map.

How Does the Game Work?

On turn 1, each team starts with their home territory. It is up to each team to recruit players and coordinate moves. You can choose to defend any territory that your team currently holds or attack any adjacent territory. A "roll" happens each evening at 11 PM EST to calculate which teams have won which territories that turn based on the moves that were made by individual players. The ultimate goal is to conquer as much of the map as possible for your team. There are a number of different ways to do this, such as through recruiting players in sheer numbers or forming alliances with other teams.

I finally broke down and did it. Very easy for those on the fence.

Had tried last year and it wasn't nearly as smooth so I gave up. Great work by the team pulling together the logistics.

in the steps to play every day section, you do not have to manually return to the college football risk screen, there is a link when you get your assignment that takes you right there.  once you have your reddit log in it is 2 clicks.   I would put up another reminder in the afternoon.  this is already at the bottom.  People are pretty distracted right now, so a reminder might help.

So I signed up, chose my team, selected Michigan, and it said: Central Michigan has been eliminated, you can either pick Wisconsin or Chaos. Cool.

Oh, when I was in college, I was always trying to find options to play more and study less. Of course, I found one interesting project https://samplius.com/ that helped me free up time for games, because there I found a perfect writing sample and then we played with the guys, there were very tough training sessions. As a result, good grades + several victories in tournaments = the key to success, I recommend it to everyone.
