hopefully the NHL gets their act together and there is no to a short lockout. I'm planning on returning Michigan for new year's fesitivites and would like to see some games while there. Goid to luck to Hagelin as well, everyone's favorite Swede (followed closely by the Swedish Chef)

Stupid NHL.

I'm surprised he's not coming back next Sunday for the Blue-White game. There are going to be alumni in the NHL playing against the current. team. Truly something that has to a first.

In Blue Ice, John U. Bacon writes about how the Michigan hockey team used to scrimmage the Red Wings during the NHL preseason in the 1950s and '60s. There's a funny anecdote about one of the Michigan players trying to check Gordie Howe and feeling like he just skated into a brick wall. Howe later wrecked the kid, then stood over him and said something like "That's how you hit, son."
