From the article: "This could end up affecting the final national title in horrifying, unimaginable ways, but that's the college football offseason now" Until the Big Ten finishes its modernization project, the conference will have nothing to do with the national title other than to lose to the SEC. Luckily, RR being at UM and PSU running their spread is very close to bringing the Big Ten back to elite status. The Big Ten is finally realizing that speed trumps the prototypical (and stereotypical) big, bulky, slow Midwestern player. I am fully convinced that recruiting the South and concentrating on speed will make UM the next Big Ten team to win the NC. But it won't happen for another year or two.
