Beilein Forgets Number of Fouls?? False

Submitted by macgoblue10 on

During the press conference after the NC game last night, Coach Beilein did something that showed me the most class and gave a true example of why players love playing for him. When asked about why it took them so long to foul during the last minute he said something to the effect of

"That was my fault, I made the mistake and lost track of how many fouls we had, I thought they were already in the bonus"

NO WAY! Besides Beilein there are 3 assistants, 4 managers, 6 admin assistants, 10 other players, and about 10 water boys... and scoreboards all over the place. There is no way Beilein lost track of the number of fouls.

So why would he do this? Why would he say he made a huge mistake in the NC game and lost track of a critical detail to the game in the last minute?  Because he is class all the way and didn't want to throw, true freshman, 19 year old Caris Levert under the bus and say "he made a mistake by waiting to foul". He protected his player like a great coach would. He takes the fall. He will put himself on the line for his players. I've heard a few mention today "how could you not know how many fouls your team had..." trust me folks, Coach B knew and his answer to the question in the press conference after the game in my mind was perfect.

Thats why WE will be ON for a while. Go Blue.
